Privacy policy

AKEMO Ventures Limited (“AKEMO”, “we”, “us”) respects your privacy. This policy explains what personal data we collect through this website, why we collect it, and your rights. We aim to handle personal data in line with Uganda’s Data Protection and Privacy Act, 2019 and, where it applies to visitors in the European Economic Area, the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

Who we are

AKEMO Ventures Limited is a company registered in Uganda with operations in Zirobwe, Luwero District. For privacy questions, please contact us through our contact page.

What we collect

• Enquiries: your name, email, optional phone number, organisation, country and message.
• Job applications: your name, email, WhatsApp number, location, CV and any introduction you provide.
• Newsletter: your email address and a record of your consent.
• Technical data: limited server logs (such as IP address and browser type) used for security and to prevent abuse.

Why we use it

• To respond to your enquiry (our legitimate interest, or steps prior to entering a contract).
• To assess job applications (your consent, and steps prior to employment).
• To send company updates you asked for (your consent — you can withdraw at any time).
• To keep this website secure and prevent spam (our legitimate interest).

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as needed to handle the matter and any follow-up, and generally no longer than 24 months. Job applications and CVs are kept for up to 12 months and then deleted, unless you are employed by us. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal data. We use trusted service providers to host this website, store submissions and send email. They process data on our behalf and only as instructed. Some providers may store data outside Uganda; where this happens we take reasonable steps to ensure appropriate safeguards.

Security

Submissions are transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and stored in an access-controlled system available only to authorised AKEMO staff.

Your rights

You may ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, object to or restrict its use, or withdraw consent. To make a request, please contact us. You may also complain to the Personal Data Protection Office in Uganda or, if you are in the EEA, your local data protection authority.

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top shows when it was last revised.
